Peptides 101

Receptors, analogues and trial phases — explained without requiring a pharmacology degree or a fog machine.

The Peptides Peptalk cast

Peptides, without the fog machine

Peptides are short chains of amino acids. Some act as hormones or signalling molecules; others are fragments, analogues or research compounds. This directory also includes NAD+ (a coenzyme) and SLU-PP-332 (a small molecule) because they are commonly discussed in the same research community.

Mechanism is not outcome

A receptor diagram can explain why researchers became interested in a compound. It cannot prove that a person will lose weight, heal an injury, sleep better or live longer. That requires appropriate human evidence.

How to read our badges

Large human trials sit in a different evidence lane from small physiological studies, cell experiments and animal models. Each guide says which lane it is in.
